**Archipelago Desk is an independent, English-language information hub covering how foreigners set up and run companies in Bali and Indonesia — PT PMA, representative offices, KITAS, KBLI codes and tax reality. It is operated by Bali Premium Trip, a concierge that connects readers to licensed local partners. We publish information, not legal advice.**
We built this site for one reason. Most of the first-page results for “offshore company Bali” are agency sales pages dressed up as guides. Emerhub, InCorp, LetsMoveIndonesia — useful firms, but their job is to close you. Ours is to explain the ground truth first, including the parts that cost a sale.
Who is behind Archipelago Desk?
Three roles, kept separate on purpose:
- Publisher: Juara Holding Group, the entity that owns and stands behind this website.
- Operator: Bali Premium Trip, an independent concierge and broker. We are not a law firm, not a licensed financial, legal or tax adviser, and not the owner of any company-formation service. Where we don’t own the service, we say “arranged via vetted licensed partners.”
- Editor: Renata Halim, our editorial lead, who commissions and reviews every page. Renata writes about Indonesian market entry for a foreign-founder audience. She is a writer, not a lawyer, and nothing here replaces advice from a licensed Indonesian professional.
One named editor is accountable for what you read. That is deliberate — you should know whose judgment sits behind a claim.
What does the hub actually cover?
Real mechanics, not brochure copy. A PT PMA (Perseroan Terbatas Penanaman Modal Asing) is Indonesia’s standard vehicle for foreign-owned companies, overseen by BKPM under the Ministry of Investment. As of 2026, subject to change, the minimum investment plan is IDR 10,000,000,000 and minimum paid-up capital is generally 25% of that — IDR 2,500,000,000 — a floor set by Article 26(10) of BKPM Regulation No. 5 of 2025, according to Emerhub. We explain why those two numbers are different, why a KPPA representative office needs none of that capital, and why nominee shareholder arrangements are risky and effectively unenforceable rather than a clever shortcut.
Here is the line we hold:
| What Archipelago Desk is | What Archipelago Desk is not |
|---|---|
| An independent information hub on Bali/Indonesia market entry | A law firm, tax practice, or licensed adviser |
| A concierge that introduces you to vetted licensed partners | The owner of any incorporation or visa service |
| A source that date-stamps figures and names its sources | A promoter of nominee “workarounds” or secrecy structures |
| Publisher: Juara Holding Group; operator: Bali Premium Trip | An “offshore secrecy” facilitator |
How does Archipelago Desk make money?
Referral fees — and we’ll say so plainly. When we introduce you to a licensed Indonesian partner (a notary, corporate secretary, immigration agent or registered tax consultant) and you engage them, that partner may pay us a referral fee. You are not charged extra for the introduction, and the fee never changes the facts we publish. We don’t take money to bury the IDR 10 billion number or to talk you into a structure you don’t need.
If a KPPA is the honest answer for a founder just testing the market, we’ll say KPPA — even though a full PT PMA engagement would pay us more.
What can a vetted partner help with, and what should it cost?
Archipelago Desk does not set these prices. Licensed partners quote their own fees directly. The ranges below are indicative only, as of 2026 and subject to change, and they exclude the actual capital you must inject — the IDR 2.5 billion paid-up figure is separate from any professional fee.
| Service | What the licensed partner handles | Typical timeline | Indicative partner fee (USD, as of 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| KBLI feasibility check | Code selection vs the Positive Investment List and Bali OSS-RBA blocks | 3–7 days | ~150–500 |
| KPPA / representative office | Market-research and liaison entity — no IDR 10B capital, no revenue | 3–6 weeks | ~1,500–3,500 |
| PT PMA incorporation | Name reservation, notarial deed, NIB via OSS-RBA, corporate NPWP/PKP | 6–10 weeks | ~2,500–6,000 |
| KITAS + NPWP (foreign director) | Work/stay permit and personal tax number for a resident director | 4–8 weeks | ~1,200–2,500 |
| Tax and accounting setup | 0.5% final turnover regime (under IDR 4.8B) vs normal corporate tax, VAT/PKP | ongoing | from ~150/month |
How does an introduction work?
- Message the concierge. Tell Bali Premium Trip on WhatsApp what you’re trying to do — hold a villa, open a PT PMA, or test the market with a rep office first.
- Answer a few scoping questions. Sector, budget, timeline, and whether you likely need a KPPA or a full PT PMA. This shapes who we introduce.
- Get matched to a licensed partner. We introduce you to one or more vetted Indonesian professionals suited to your case.
- Deal directly with them. The partner quotes their own scope and fee, and you sign your engagement with them — not with us.
- Keep us as a reference. We stay a source you can return to. We may earn a referral fee from the partner, never from you.
What are our editorial and correction standards?
- Sources named in prose. We attribute to bodies like BKPM and the Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Directorate General of Taxes and the OSS-RBA platform, and to firms such as Emerhub, Indonesia-Investments and Bali Villa Realty — not to anonymous “experts.”
- Figures date-stamped. Capital, tax and fee numbers carry an “as of 2026, subject to change” marker, because Indonesian rules move.
- No guarantees, no nominees. We never promise an outcome, a timeline or a tax result, and we flag nominee shareholder or director structures as risky and effectively unenforceable.
- YMYL routing. For anything binding, we send you to licensed Indonesian counsel and registered tax consultants. Indonesia also participates in automatic exchange of information (CRS) with Australia, Singapore, the US and the EU — so “quiet” structures are rarely quiet.

Ready to talk to a real person?
Talk to the concierge, not a sales floor. Message Bali Premium Trip on WhatsApp at +62 811-2859-0000 or email sales@balipremiumtrip.com. Tell us what you want to build in Indonesia, and we’ll point you to a licensed partner who can actually sign the paperwork. Introductions are free to you, we don’t give legal or tax advice ourselves, and we’ll flag when the honest answer is “wait” or “start smaller.”
